“Angelina Jolie Takes On Iconic Role as Maria Callas in Upcoming Opera Biopic”

The film world has been buzzing with the release of the first image of Angelina Jolie portraying the iconic 1950s singer Maria Callas. Director Pablo LarraĆn shared two pictures on October 9, showcasing Jolie in a stunning coat with a white fur collar and a chic 1950s-style headpiece. In another image, Jolie’s hair falls loose as she dons a sweater and large glasses. The crew also released several set photos from Paris, featuring Jolie flaunting different styles. From a brown tweed jacket with a pencil skirt to a long black winter coat with a headscarf, sunglasses, or a black fur coat with a fedora, Jolie’s transformation into the opera singer is truly remarkable.

According to DailyMail, the actor expressed his dedication towards his latest project and acknowledged the opportunity to work with Director Pablo LarraĆn, whom he has admired for a considerable time. He also mentioned that having the chance to collaborate with LarraĆn and Steven Knight on Maria’s story is nothing short of a dream come true.

Director LarraĆn has praised Angelina Jolie for her outstanding acting skills in the upcoming film Maria. The actress has put in a lot of effort to prepare for the role and bring the character to life. The movie depicts the life of a legendary opera singer during his last days in Paris in the 1970s, showcasing both the beauty and tragedy of his tumultuous journey.

The movie was filmed over a period of eight weeks in various locations such as Paris, Greece, Budapest, and Milan, with an ensemble cast featuring Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Haluk Bilginer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Valeria Golino alongside Angelina Jolie. Jolie’s wardrobe in the film is inspired by the original attire worn by Callas during her lifetime. To ensure ethical sourcing of vintage furs from the archives of costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini, animal rights groups like PETA were consulted by the manufacturer. The use of new fur costumes was ultimately rejected by the film crew. Angelina Jolie comes from an artistic family in America and made her on-screen debut alongside her father Jon Voight in the 1982 movie. She began her acting career in 1993 and has since won an Oscar as well as three Golden Globe awards.
